How to Make Fried Rice

Fried rice is a globally known dish, though especially famous in African cuisine. It can be served alongside fried chicken or fried fish fillets, as desired.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 carrots
  • 4 green onions
  • 1 green pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • boneless chicken pieces or fish fillet, according to availability and preference
  • Fried rice can be served alongside chicken or fish fillets as desired... also with cabbage salad and mayonnaise...

Method

  1. Boil the rice until cooked and the water has evaporated; add the butter and stir for a few minutes, then spread the rice on a wide tray to cool well ...
  2. Grate the carrots and finely chop the green onions; also mince the pepper ..
  3. In a pan, melt a large tablespoon of butter, crack the eggs into the butter, scramble them briefly, then add the chopped vegetables.
  4. When the vegetables are cooked, add a pinch of grated ginger and the soy sauce, and finally the rice... Stir the ingredients well to combine and let it simmer over low heat until heated through.
  5. The fried rice can be served alongside chicken fillet or fish fillets as desired, also alongside coleslaw and mayonnaise...
