Meat Arayes — one of the easiest recipes ever. Don't worry if you get home just half an hour before the kids arrive — here's the solution :)
Ingredients
- 500 g finely ground beef
- 1 large onion
- ½ bunch parsley
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 green bell pepper
- 1 small chili pepper
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Cinnamon
- Arabic flatbread (pita)

Method
- Wash the vegetables well, drain them, and chop them very finely.
- Add them to the meat with salt and spices and mix thoroughly so the meat is well combined.
- Prepare a loaf of Arabic bread: open it and spread a quantity of the meat inside each pocket so that it covers the entire bottom side of the loaf.
- Fold the top side of the loaf over the bottom.
- Grill the meat arayes in a nonstick pan, over charcoal, or on a saj, according to preference and availability.
- Serve them hot once the bread is toasted during grilling... serve with yogurt.
