Vegetarian Shawarma Recipe
For anyone following a special diet or avoiding meat: the long-awaited fully plant-based replacement for meat shawarma. Here is the vegetarian shawarma recipe—enjoy.
Ingredients

- 2 cups canned mushrooms
- 1 beetroot
- 1 green pepper
- 1 teaspoon shawarma spice
- 1 teaspoon paprika (ground red pepper)
- 1 onion
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small cup vegetable oil
- salt
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Chop all the ingredients. Place the mushrooms, pepper, onion, and beet, drizzle with oil and spices, and marinate for an hour.
- After the marinating time, fry the vegetable mixture on high heat for 2 minutes, then reduce to low heat and cook with occasional stirring for about 10 more minutes.Timers: 2 min
- Then remove the beet as its job is done for giving a color similar to meat. Add the tomatoes and olive oil and stir the mixture.
- Serve the vegetarian shawarma like meat shawarma with assorted vegetables and french fries.
