How to Make KFC-Style Chicken
A tried-and-true homemade recipe for making delicious KFC-style chicken, similar to the way it is served and prepared in specialty restaurants.
Ingredients

- 1 kilo chicken thighs
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons starch
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon paprika or sweet red pepper
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- Chicken marinade
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Wash the chicken thigh pieces and parboil them until nearly cooked.
- On the day before cooking the chicken, mix all the spices for the chicken marinade together and rub the chicken with vegetable oil
- .Squeeze the lemon, rub the chicken pieces with the salt and black pepper mixture, then add hot sauce. Put the chicken in a food storage bag after adding vinegar, and leave it in the fridge until the next day.
- The next day, remove the chicken from the bag, let it drain of the vinegar, then prepare the rest of the recipe.
- Beat the eggs and add baking powder; you will notice the eggs foaming, and when the foaming subsides after adding the chicken, add the baking powder again and continue coating the chicken.
- Remove the chicken from the egg, place it in the flour mixture with the spices (onion powder and garlic powder), mix well. Leave the chicken in the fridge for half an hour, then fry it in plenty of oil, reducing the heat initially so it cooks through; after a few minutes raise the heat slightly until it turns golden.
