Homemade Qatayef: How to Make Qatayef at Home

Making homemade qatayef has never been this easy! A clear, easy, and tested recipe for homemade qatayef. You can use any filling you like, such as cream, nuts and sugar, or pistachios.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup semolina (fine)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 small cup powdered milk
  • a pinch of baking soda
  • a pinch of salt
  • 3 cups water (you may add more if needed)

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Mix all the ingredients together and let them rest for half an hour so the batter relaxes well.
  2. Heat a nonstick pan over the stove, then pour a little batter in a circular shape into the pan until the circle puffs on top and the bottom turns golden.
  3. Place the qatayef circles on a cloth and cover them with another cloth to keep them soft.

  5. Boil 1 liter of liquid milk with a small cup of white vinegar and a carton of yogurt...
  6. When the milk separates, qareesha forms; place it in a strainer. Prepare 1 cup milk with 1 tablespoon cornstarch and boil them until the mixture thickens; then add the qareesha to them, mix, add orange blossom water, and let cool before using...
  7. Add a medium-sized can of kaimr cream to the ashta and whip them together...
  8. It is preferable to prepare the ashta the night before using it.
  9. Fill the qatayef with the ashta and garnish with pistachios...
