Potato Purée Casserole (Soufflé) with Ground Beef
Oven-baked potato purée casserole — very easy and loved by everyone. Some like to top it with breadcrumbs or cheese, but this recipe is different. Discover it!

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 kg potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed with a fork
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup warm milk with 50 g butter melted into it
- Filling
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- Salt
- 500 g ground beef
- A pinch of black pepper
- A pinch of nutmeg
- A pinch of turmeric
- 1 egg, beaten with a pinch of salt and black pepper for the top
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Blend the mashed potatoes with the milk and butter using a blender
- In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the oil and sauté the chopped onion until soft
- Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until the filling is done
- Spread half of the potato mixture in a Pyrex or in a non-stick oven dish
- Distribute the filling evenly, then spread the remaining potato mixture on top evenly
- Beat the egg with a pinch of salt and black pepper and brush it over the top
- Place the potato purée casserole in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F). Bake for about 20 minutes with both top and bottom heatTimers: 20 min
