Turmeric Chicken Rice
Turmeric chicken rice is a very practical, easy recipe. Serve with salad and plain yogurt. It’s also quick to prepare since chicken breasts cook fast.

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 2 cups American rice
- 4 chicken breasts, cut into cubes
- 1 tablespoon turmeric (or "Aqdah Safra")
- 1 grated carrot
- 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
- 1 teaspoon seven-spice mix (baharat)
- Salt, to taste
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon ghee
- Toasted seeds or nuts for garnish
- Parsley for garnish
- Pomegranate seeds for garnish
- 4 cups water

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Put the oil in a pot over the heat and add the chicken pieces with salt and half the amount of turmeric, curry, and seven-spice mix; stir until the chicken pieces are cooked.
- Add the ghee, carrots, rice, and the remaining spices and stir a little.
- Add water and leave it on high heat until it boils, then reduce the heat and cover the pot.
- Let the turmeric chicken rice cook on low heat.
- Serve the rice and garnish it with parsley, dried fruit and nuts, and pomegranate seeds.
