  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • A few mastic beads, crushed with 1 teaspoon sugar

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Put the milk, cornstarch and sugar in a pot and stir well until the starch dissolves.
  2. Place the mixture over medium heat and stir occasionally.
  3. When the mixture heats up, add the crushed mastic and continue stirring until the mixture thickens and sets.
  4. Stir in the rose water until well combined.
  5. Pour the Haytaliya (Qeshtaliya) into a serving dish, refrigerate for about two hours, and serve chilled with nuts.
