Layered Dessert with Jelly and Crème Caramel

This layered dessert looks simple, but it needs careful assembly so the jelly and caramel layers don't blend together. You can also make it with custard or milk pudding instead of crème caramel.

Layered dessert with jelly and crème caramel ... you can also replace the crème caramel with custard or milk pudding.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • Mixed-color jelly, as desired
  • Each packet of jelly powder needs
  • 1 1/3 cups hot water
  • 1 tablespoon qimar cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter, at room temperature
  • Crème caramel
  • 1 packet crème caramel powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • Topping
  • Fruit, as desired

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Start by preparing the jelly in an electric blender. Add the jelly powder, hot water, cream, and butter, and blend for no more than one minute.
  2. In a clear glass serving dish or suitable cups, spread a layer of the jelly mixture, then place the cups in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
    Timers: 20 min
  3. Prepare a second packet of jelly in a different color using the same method.
  4. Carefully pour the jelly over the back of a spoon, then use the spoon to spread the second layer over the first after 20 minutes in the refrigerator. The second layer must be distributed with a spoon so the colors do not mix.
    Timers: 20 min
  5. You can repeat the process with another jelly color, depending on your preference and the size of the cups or serving dish.
  6. Prepare the crème caramel by dissolving the packet in the milk and placing it over the heat, stirring until the mixture thickens. Spread a layer of it gently with a spoon, as explained above for the jelly layers.
  7. Place the layered dessert in the refrigerator for several hours until well set.
  8. When serving, garnish the top with fruit as desired.
