Sfoof is one of the easiest and quickest desserts to prepare. Do you make it with all-purpose flour, or do you mix it with fine semolina, also known as chicken flour? We used equal amounts of both in this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups fine semolina, also known as chicken flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric, or yellow annatto
  • 2 cups water

Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients well together until you are sure the sugar has completely dissolved.
  2. Grease a medium-sized baking tray with tahini, then pour in the sfoof mixture.
  3. Place it in the oven on the lower or middle rack, depending on the strength of your oven, and bake for at least 30 minutes at 180°C, or until fully cooked.

  4. Let the sfoof dessert cool before slicing and serving.
