Ingredients

  • Coarsely ground meat (beef or lamb)
  • 2 cups long-grain rice
  • 1 tablespoon kabsa seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon seven-spice blend
  • Salt
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 cups hot water
  • Butter
  • Nuts to taste (fried or toasted)

Method

  1. Sauté the minced meat in the pot until it loses its liquids and changes color, adding the spices while stirring.
  2. Add the butter and stir until it melts.
  3. Add the rice and the water and stir lightly only so the rice does not break up.
  4. When the water boils, reduce the heat and cover the pot.
  5. Leave the rice with the minced meat on low heat until it cooks through.
  6. Pour the rice onto a serving plate and garnish with fried or roasted nuts and place the grilled chicken slices on top or beside the rice.
