Maqroun
Maqroun is a delicious sweet. You may like it fried, which is the traditional version, but you can also bake it in the oven for a lighter taste and fewer calories :)
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 1/2 cups fine semolina
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon anise
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons powdered milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup water
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Mix all the dry ingredients well, then add the vegetable oil and mix well. Add the water, knead, and let the dough rest for about an hour ...
- After the required time has passed, shape the dough into small balls and roll them over the surface of a sieve so they take on a pointed shape as shown in the picture. Then fry the maqroun pieces and dip them in syrup (shira). You can also garnish the maqroun with a sprinkle of ground pistachios, if desired.
