Kaak Cookies
A new Kaak cookie recipe that we never tire of trying, making, or eating... Try this recipe, which from the photo looks incredibly delicious.
Ingredients

- 100 grams unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup powdered milk
- 1 teaspoon ground anise
- 1 tablespoon kaak spice mix (dakka)
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 6 cups white flour
- 1 tablespoon Nigella seeds (kalonji)
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 2 cups sugar
- Note
- Kaak spice is a blend of mahlab, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. All ingredients should be ground very finely and well combined.
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Mix all the ingredients and knead with lukewarm water; add the water gradually according to the dough's needs until you obtain a soft dough.
- Divide the dough into medium-sized rounds (size as desired). Roll the rounds on the kaak mold, lift the kaak from the mold, and place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the kaak in a preheated oven at 180°C until the edges brown. Do not leave them in the oven too long so they do not become hard.
