Ingredients: \r\n\r\n1 tablespoon sugar\r\n5 tablespoons cornstarch\r\n1 teaspoon vanilla\r\n600 milliliters of liquid milk (usually the can of milk shows how many liters it contains)\r\n400 milliliters liquid cream\r\n3 slices of toast or any white bread you have available\r\n1 tablespoon orange blossom water\r\n\r\n
\r\n
1 tablespoon rose water
\r\nPreparation: Whisk the starch with 1 cup of milk and set aside.\r\nAdd the remaining milk, cream, and vanilla to a pot and heat them.\r\nBefore the milk boils, add the starch mixture to the milk and stir while cooking to obtain a thick mixture. Add the rose water and orange blossom water and stir well, then let the mixture cool..
Trim the crusts from the toast to obtain very soft bread, then add it to the ashta... and you can also, as an alternative to toast, boil milk and add a little vinegar; when it begins to boil the milk will curdle into lumps. Lift the lumps with a strainer, remove the water, and add them to the ashta to help it firm up...
Pour the ashta into a flat dish and garnish with whatever fresh fruit is available, then drizzle with syrup (shira) or honey.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 5 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 600 milliliters liquid milk (usually the milk carton indicates how many liters it contains)
- 400 milliliters liquid cream
- 3 slices of toast or any type of European-style bread you have available
- 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
- 1 tablespoon rose water
- Method: Mix the cornstarch with 1 cup of milk and set it aside.
Method
- Add the remaining milk, cream, and vanilla to a saucepan and heat them.
- Before the milk boils, add the cornstarch mixture to the milk and stir while cooking until you have a thick mixture. Add the rose water and orange blossom water and stir well, then leave the mixture to cool.
- Remove the hard crusts from the toast to get very soft bread, then add it to the ashta... Alternatively, instead of toast you can boil milk and add a little vinegar when it starts boiling; the milk will curdle into curds—lift them with a strainer, remove the whey, and add the curds to the ashta to help it set...
- Pour the ashta onto a flat plate, garnish with whatever fresh fruits you have, and add syrup (shira) or honey.
