Fatteh is one of those dishes that can be served for breakfast or lunch... The important thing is to serve it immediately so the bread does not become soggy! Here is this recipe, which serves just one person... You can adjust the quantities according to the number of guests!
Ingredients
- Half a small Arabic bread loaf, cut into cubes and fried in plenty of oil
- 1 cup cooked chickpeas, previously cooked or canned
- Salt
- Fine cumin
- 2 large tablespoons hummus tahini (with garlic, lemon juice, salt, and tahini)
- 1 1/2 cups yogurt
- 1 clove garlic
- For the topping:
- 1/2 cup butter
- Nuts
Method
- Spread the fried bread over the bottom of the serving dish
- Spread the pre-cooked chickpeas, or canned chickpeas after heating them well
- Sprinkle a pinch of salt and cumin over the chickpeas
- Prepare the hummus tahini by crushing a small clove of garlic and whisking it with a squeeze of lemon, 1 tablespoon tahini, and a pinch of salt, then mix the sauce with 2 large tablespoons of chickpeas
- Spread the hummus tahini over the chickpeas in the serving dish
- Crush a small clove of garlic and whisk it with 1 cup of yogurt
- Spread the yogurt over the dish
- Melt the butter in a pan and drizzle it over the top of the dish.. Finally, garnish the fatteh with fried nuts and serve
