Grilled Shish Tawook with Chimichurri Sauce
Shish tawook with Argentine chimichurri in a delicious recipe — brush the skewers with the sauce two minutes before removing from the heat. Very tasty!
Tawook — one of the most delicious chicken marinades, enjoyed grilled or fried. Imagine it with delicious Argentine chimichurri :)
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 kg boneless chicken, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons yogurt
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- A pinch ground cumin
- A pinch of pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley or 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/2 tablespoon turmeric (or yellow coloring)
- Seven-spice blend (baharat)
- Or tawook spice (optional)
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 3 tablespoons oil
- Chimichurri Sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon oregano

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Start by preparing the tawook marinade. Mix all the tawook marinade ingredients, combine with the chicken pieces, and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours.Timers: 360 min
- After the time has passed and the chicken has absorbed the marinade well, thread the pieces onto metal skewers or wooden skewers (soak wooden skewers in water 30 minutes beforehand).Timers: 30 min
- Prepare the chimichurri sauce by mixing all its ingredients together.
- Two minutes before removing the tawook from the grill or oven, brush it with the chimichurri sauce and grill for two more minutes, turning as needed.
- Serve the tawook with salads, dips, potatoes, and Arabic or Western bread.
