Pizza is one of the most delicious pastries—especially when it’s made with corn flour and 4 types of cheese! Make this pizza using this easy, simple method and you’ll definitely love it.

Ingredients

  • Dough:
  • 3 cups white flour
  • 1 cup corn flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon white vinegar
  • lukewarm water
  • Sauce:
  • grated tomatoes
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • a drizzle of olive oil
  • salt
  • paprika
  • thyme
  • oregano
  • Filling:
  • Fontina cheese
  • 3 types of grated cheese: kashkaval / mozzarella / emmental
  • fresh basil
  • olives
  • green bell pepper

Method

  1. We start by preparing the dough.. Sift the plain white flour with the corn flour and mix them together.
  2. Add the sugar, salt, and yeast and mix, then add the oil and rub it in until the flour absorbs all the oil.
  3. Add a drop of white vinegar, then gradually add the lukewarm water until you get a soft dough that sticks slightly to the hand... because the corn flour will absorb the water and make the dough firm if it isn’t soft from the start.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rest for at least half an hour.
  5. Prepare the sauce.. In a pot over the heat, place the grated tomatoes, strained of their water, with a drizzle of olive oil, the very finely chopped onion, the crushed garlic, thyme, oregano, salt, and paprika, and let them simmer together until the sauce thickens.
  6. Roll out the pizza dough after it has risen in a tray greased with a little oil.
  7. Spread the Fontina cheese, cut into slices or grated, directly over the dough, then spread the sauce on top.
  8. Sprinkle the three grated cheeses mixed together (kashkaval, emmental, and mozzarella) over the sauce, then distribute the green pepper strips and sliced olives.
  9. Place the tray in a hot oven at 180°C and bake until browned.
  10. Add the basil leaves and brown the top slightly only.
  11. Note: Corn flour is healthy and will help the dough take on a beautiful golden color, as well as give it a crisp, biscuit-like texture.
