Ozi with Puff Pastry
A quick, concise method for making Ozi with puff pastry. This approach saves you from making the pastry from scratch or following a more complex Ozi method. We recommend trying it.
Ozi with Puff Pastry in a very easy recipe that doesn’t take long to prepare, yet the result we’ll get is as delicious and beautiful as can be!
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 10 square pieces of puff pastry
- 1 1/2 cups long-grain rice
- finely ground beef
- ½ kg tender beef slices (medallions) or neck cuts
- nuts for garnish
- yogurt
- Yogurt sauce
- 1 kg whisked yogurt
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- a little water
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Boil the meat pieces or slices with seasonings, then wash and soak the rice in water for 15 minutes.Timers: 15 min
- Fry the minced meat in oil with the pine nuts and a pinch of sweet spice (allspice).
- Remove the puff pastry from the freezer and leave it for about 15 minutes to thaw and become soft.Timers: 15 min
- Put the soaked and washed rice in a pot with the minced meat, cover with water and cook over low heat until the meat and rice are tender.
- Roll out the puff pastry with a rolling pin and prepare a small cup or bowl lightly greased with oil; place pastry inside it, fill with the cooked rice and meat, and seal all the edges so it becomes round.
- Arrange the filled puff pastry Ozi rolls on an oiled baking tray and repeat the same process with the remaining rolls.
- Place the tray in the oven and brown them from the bottom then the top for about 10 minutes.Timers: 10 min
- Serve the Ozi rolls with the cooked yogurt.
- Method for preparing the yogurt:
- 1 kg whisked yogurt
- 2 tablespoons corn starch
- A little water
