Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups semolina
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup liquid milk
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- Warm syrup (qatr or shira)
- For garnish:
- Pistachios and shredded coconut, or as desired

Method
- Whisk the eggs with vanilla, then add the sugar and continue to stir quickly or whisk.
- Gradually add the yogurt, milk, and oil.
- When the liquid ingredients are well combined, add the semolina and baking powder and mix well.
- Grease a Pyrex dish or baking pan with oil, or line its bottom with parchment paper, then pour in the basbousa mixture.
- Place the pan in the oven on the middle rack for about half an hour until golden brown.
- Remove it from the oven and pour the warm syrup over it while it's hot.
- Garnish with pistachios and coconut, then let it cool before serving the easiest and most delicious basbousa dessert.
