Ingredients
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 300 g ground beef
- Pine nuts - optional
- 1 1/2 kg ripe red tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon seven-spice blend
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sweet spice
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Method
- Sauté the onion in a little oil until softened.
- Add the ground beef and stir until cooked through.
- Add the pine nuts (optional) over the meat and stir briefly.
- Peel the tomatoes beforehand and cut them into small cubes, then add them over the meat. Add the tomato paste, salt, and spices, and stir.
- Cover the pot and leave the tomato stew for about 20 minutes over medium heat until the tomatoes are cooked and the sauce thickens.Timers: 20 min
- Serve the stew alongside fluffy rice with vermicelli.
