Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of cinnamon
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup warm water
- Date filling:
- 1/2 kilo pitted dates
- 1/2 tablespoon melted butter, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Sesame seeds or whole anise seeds for garnish - optional

Method
- Knead the flour with the remaining ingredients (start with two cups of flour, then add more as needed)... knead well until the dough forms
- Cover the dough and let it rest and rise
- Prepare the filling meanwhile... knead the dates with the butter and cinnamon and shape them into small fingers
- Dust a clean surface with flour... roll out the rested dough with a rolling pin until thin
- Cut the dough lengthwise to the width of the date fingers we shaped
- Place one date finger on the dough, roll the dough around it with a single turn and cut... seal the piece into a small rectangle or you can leave the finger as a small roll
- ...repeat the same method until the mixture is finished
- Place the date fingers on a baking tray without greasing it
- Put the tray in the middle of the oven at 180°C for 10 to 15 minutes depending on the oven strength until the pieces are goldenTimers: 15 min
- Serve them cold at room temperature
