Recipe story

Homemade waffles with a recipe that's no better and no easier! Waffles are one of the most loved sweets by children, so learning how to make them is a must to please them

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups liquid milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • A pinch of salt

Method

  1. First, beat the eggs well in an electric mixer, then start adding the milk gradually while continuing to beat.
  2. Add the sugar and keep beating until it dissolves, then add the butter and continue beating as well.
  3. When the ingredients are well combined, start adding the flour, baking powder, and baking soda gradually, and continue beating.
  4. Preheat the waffle maker and brush it with a little butter to make sure the waffle mixture does not stick to the machine.
  5. Start pouring the waffle batter into the machine and leave it to cook. The batter will need about 3 minutes to dry and cook through.

  6. Remove the waffle gently from the machine so it does not break, and continue the same way until all the batter is used up.
  7. Serve the waffles immediately with honey on top, or chocolate sauce, or strawberry sauce, or even canned or fresh fruit, ice cream, or jam. They can also be decorated with whipped cream or clotted cream and raw nuts, or simply finished with a light dusting of powdered sugar.
  8. Note: You can add cocoa to the waffle batter to make chocolate waffles, and serve them with chocolate sauce to enhance the cocoa flavor or with strawberry sauce.
