  • 3 cups pitted dates
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup fine semolina (farikha flour)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup plain crushed biscuits
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method

  1. Soak the dates in 1/4 cup water for a while until they become soft.
  2. In a pan over heat, toast the semolina briefly until its color changes, then add the cardamom, cinnamon, butter, sugar, and crushed biscuits.
  3. Then add the dates and stir well for 5 minutes, then turn off the heat once you have a date dough.
  4. Shape the mixture into balls.
  5. Dip the balls, as desired, in ground pistachios, sesame, grated coconut, or crushed biscuits.
