Recipe story
Tahini halva is one of those sweets that is found in almost every Arab home! We recommend making it at home because it is very easy and lets you choose the quality of the ingredients used. Adding nuts to the halva is optional
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 cups powdered milk
- A pinch of vanilla
- A pinch of ground mastic
- 1 cup tahini
- Pistachios for the top / optional
Method
- Sift the sugar with the milk
- Place them in a deep bowl and add the vanilla and ground mastic with a pinch of sugar, then mix well
- Add the tahini and begin rubbing the ingredients together until the tahini absorbs all the dry ingredients. You will get a mixture that resembles sand
- In a Pyrex dish, bowl, or plastic container, place a sheet of cling film so that it is large enough to cover the sides of the dish or container
- Sprinkle whole or chopped pistachios over the cling film at the bottom of the container, then spread the halva mixture on top and press it down well with your hand until compact
- Cover the top of the halva mold with cling film and place it in the freezer for 4 hours until the halva firms up wellTimers: 240 min
- Serve after the time has passed and store it in the refrigerator because it does not contain preservatives
