Semolina with milk — an easy, refreshing dessert served cold and very tasty.

Ingredients

  • 10 tablespoons powdered milk
  • +
  • 1 liter water
  • or
  • 1 liter liquid milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup fine semolina
  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring
  • Grated coconut for garnish

Method

  1. Combine the milk (powdered mixed with water, or the liquid milk), sugar and vanilla in a pot and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Just before it reaches a boil, gradually add the semolina while stirring until the mixture thickens.
  3. Divide the mixture into two portions. Add 1 teaspoon of red food coloring to one portion and mix well, then pour the semolina pudding into serving glasses.
  4. Garnish with grated coconut and let the dessert cool before refrigerating.
