- 2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs at room temperature
- 1 cup yogurt
- lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 tablespoons red food coloring
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- small pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Method
- Sift the dry ingredients, mix them well, and set aside.
- Beat the eggs with the vanilla, lemon zest, and sugar for 5 minutes, then add the yogurt, vinegar, red food coloring and oil.
- Beat for a short time, then add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and continue beating.
- Pour the batter into a 26 cm cake pan lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C for 30 minutes or according to your oven's strength until the cake is cooked and risen.
- When the red velvet cake is done, remove it from the oven and set aside to cool, then decorate with white cream or buttercream and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings or as desired
