Ingredients:

Qamar al-Din mixture:

1 sheet of qamar al-din 1 cup sugar 3 cups water 5 tablespoons cornstarch 2 teaspoons rose water

Milk pudding mixture:

1 large can sweetened condensed milk 1 cup water 6 tablespoons cornstarch 2 tablespoons rose water

For garnish:

Nuts as available, raisins, shredded coconut...

Preparation:

Prepare the pudding and qamar din separately. Prepare the qamar din first by soaking in hot water until soft; if possible, you can soak it overnight for best results.

Mix the qamar din with a little cornstarch while cold, then place over very low heat with water until it fully dissolves and reaches a pudding-like consistency. Stir constantly to prevent lumps.

Combine the pudding ingredients in a second pot and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until slightly thickened and cohesive.

When both mixtures are ready, pour into serving cups in layers: first a layer of pudding, then a layer of qamar din. Garnish with shredded coconut and pistachios or any nuts you have.
