Ingredients
- 250 g flour (about 2 cups)
- 50 g powdered sugar (just under 1/2 cup — about 2 tablespoons less)
- 100 g softened butter at room temperature (1/2 cup)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- A pinch of salt

Method
- In a bowl, put the butter and powdered sugar and stir with a wooden spoon until combined, lightened in color and creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla and mix well by hand until incorporated and the mixture feels thicker.
- In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients, then gradually add them to the egg-and-butter mixture and fold by hand without kneading until all the flour is incorporated.
- Let the petifor dough rest for about one hour.
- After an hour, shape the dough as desired.
- Use a nonstick frying pan. Place a sheet of aluminum foil on the pan and heat it over medium heat until the pan is hot.
- Place the petifor pieces on the foil, cover completely with a pot lid, then lower the heat after five minutes.
- Leave them on low heat until they change color to brown, about 15 minutes.Timers: 15 min
- Once the petifor pieces have cooled, coat them with melted chocolate and decorate as you like.
