Ingredients

  • 6 cups liquid milk
  • 1 cup and 1/2 cups flour
  • Grated lemon zest — 1 tsp
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 a standard butter block (about 100 g)
  • 5 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 6 packs plain biscuits (tea biscuits)
  • Pistachios for garnish
  • Method for another dessert (for reference): Mix the ingredients (except the syrup) and let rest about 30 minutes, shape the dough as you like, bake, then brush the surface with syrup and sprinkle with shredded coconut.

Method

  1. Put the milk, flour, lemon zest, sugar, and butter in a pot over the heat and stir until the mixture thickens.
  2. Divide it into two parts and add cocoa to the first part, stirring well until the mixture is uniform.
  3. In a serving dish, tray, or Pyrex, place a layer of biscuits at the bottom, then pour a layer of the cocoa mixture, then arrange another layer of biscuits and top with the non-cocoa mixture.
  4. Garnish with pistachios and let the chilled cake cool at room temperature before placing it in the fridge.
  5. Serve it cold after several hours.
