How to make milk bread — a tried and wonderful recipe!
Ingredients
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- 1 tbsp instant yeast
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
- a pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup milk

Method
- Dissolve the yeast in a little lukewarm water.
- Add the remaining ingredients and knead until you have a smooth, homogeneous dough.
- Continue kneading until the dough is soft and elastic.
- Let the milk bread dough rise for 1 hour until it has doubled in size, then knead it again.Timers: 60 min
- Shape the dough as you like — rounds, buns, or finger-shaped rolls — to get the milk bread you want.
- Place the pieces on a baking tray and let them rise again.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (about 400°F).
- Brush the milk bread with a mixture of egg yolk and milk, then sprinkle with raw sesame seeds and nigella seeds.
- Bake the milk bread until golden — don’t leave it in the oven too long or it will become hard.
