Layali Lubnan with orange.. an innovative recipe ... you will not find it anywhere else :) Try it

Ingredients

  • Layali Lubnan:
  • 2 cups powdered milk + 1.5 liters water, or 6 cups
  • or
  • 1.5 liters, or 6 cups, liquid milk
  • 3 heaping tablespoons sugar
  • 2 heaping tablespoons starch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon mastic, optional
  • 1 1/2 cups coarse semolina
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
  • Orange layer:
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 2 heaping tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons starch
  • Qashta layer:
  • 2 large cans cream qashta
  • For garnish:
  • Pistachios and orange blossoms
  • Syrup for serving
  • Syrup:
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Orange syrup:
  • Orange blossoms
  • Orange zest
  • 1 medium grated carrot
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup syrup
  • How to make the syrup:
  • First, make the usual syrup to take one cup from it later

Method

  1. Put all the Layali Lubnan ingredients together except the semolina and orange blossom water... stir them cold, then place them in a pot over the heat, stirring constantly until they boil
  2. Once the mixture boils, add the coarse semolina and keep stirring until the mixture is smooth and thickens. Finally, add 1 tablespoon orange blossom water, stir, and turn off the heat
  3. Pour Layali Lubnan into a Pyrex dish and let it cool well
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the orange layer... mix the ingredients cold, then place them in a pot over the heat until thickened
  5. Pour the orange layer over the Layali Lubnan and spread it evenly, then let it cool
  6. After the orange layer has cooled, spread the two cans of cream qashta over it and smooth it out evenly as well
  7. Decorate the top with pistachios and orange blossoms
  8. Place the Pyrex dish in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving
  9. Serve the orange syrup with the Layali Lubnan dessert with orange
  10. Place the sugar, water, and lemon juice in a pot over the heat
  11. Once it boils, let it simmer on low heat for 7 minutes, then turn off the heat

  12. In the second stage... place the orange blossoms, orange zest, and carrot in a pot over the heat with 1/4 cup orange juice and 1 cup of the syrup we prepared earlier
  13. When the mixture boils and becomes syrupy and sticky, remove it immediately from the heat
