Ingredients
- 4 cups milk
- 1 cup semolina
- 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
- 1 tablespoon rose water
- Small packet of mastic or a pinch (optional)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 container Qaimar cream (qishta)
- Desiccated coconut and shelled pistachios for garnish
- Sugar syrup (shira) or honey

Method
- Put the milk, semolina and sugar in a pot over the heat and stir occasionally until the mixture boils and thickens.
- Add the rose water, orange blossom water and ground mastic with the sugar, and stir well.
- Pour the mixture into a tray and smooth the surface until you have an even, smooth top.
- Let Layali Lubnan cool slightly to room temperature, then spread the clotted cream (ashta) over the top and smooth it as well.
- Garnish Layali Lubnan with desiccated coconut and pistachios, and serve chilled from the refrigerator with syrup or honey.
