Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 1 cup olive oil
- 3/4 cup regular sugar
- 1/2 cup anise seeds
- 3 tablespoons ground anise
- 2/3 cup toasted sesame seeds
- 1 cup water
- Cake Glaze:
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons plain water
- A pinch of vanilla
Method
- Mix the oil with the flour and rub it together with your hands a little, then let it rest for half an hour.
- After the required time, add the rest of the ingredients to the flour and mix the ingredients with your hand a little.
- Let the vegan cake mixture rest for a full hour, then preheat the oven.
- Line a cake pan or tray with parchment paper, or grease it with a little ghee and a dusting of flour.
- Bake the vegan cake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for 45 minutes, or until cooked through and puffed up.Timers: 45 min
- Be careful not to open the oven while the cake is baking so it does not sink...
- Once the vegan cake is done, remove it from the oven and place it on a rack, then immediately pour over the glaze.
