Recipe story
Date cake bracelets are a tried-and-true homemade recipe for the tastiest cake you can serve with a cup of tea or coffee!
Ingredients
- Date paste mixed with a tablespoon of olive oil
- Two and a half cups flour
- Half a cup whole wheat flour
- One and a half teaspoons baking powder
- Quarter cup sesame seeds
- One tablespoon nigella seeds
- One tablespoon kaak spice blend
- Half a teaspoon ground anise
- Half a cup vegetable oil
- Half a cup melted butter (100 g pack)
- 180 ml drinking yogurt or cultured yogurt
- One beaten egg
Method
- Knead the dates with a little olive oil and a teaspoon of kaak spice blend.
- Add the dry ingredients together and mix well. Make a well in the center and add the oil and butter, then rub with your hands until well combined and silky in texture.
- Add the yogurt and egg and continue kneading well. Let the dough rest for about five minutes, then start working with it.
- Take a portion of the dough and roll it out very thinly. Fill it with dates, roll it up, and shape it into bracelets.
- Place the cake bracelets on a baking tray, set the tray on the middle rack, and turn on the oven from the bottom until they start to color, then from the top.
- The bracelets do not need a long time in a preheated hot oven. About 10 to 12 minutes at most.Timers: 12 min
