Ingredients
- 1 kilo pastry flour
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup yogurt
- 1 tablespoon mahlab
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon baking powder

Method
- Put 1 cup melted butter in a bowl and pour the oil over it.
- Add the sugar and ½ cup yogurt with 1 tablespoon mahlab, plus the vanilla and baking powder.
- Add the flour to the butter and sugar mixture and mix until the ingredients combine and the dough comes together.
- Let the mahlab ka'ak dough rest for about one hour.
- After the required time has passed, begin shaping the dough into ka'ak rings and brush the top of each ka'ak lightly with egg.
- Arrange the mahlab ka'ak on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Place the ka'ak tray in a preheated oven at 170°C for about 12 minutes or until the ka'ak are cooked.
- Do not leave the mahlab ka'ak in the oven too long so they do not become hard.
