- 350 to 450 g flour
- 125 g butter
- 5 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- cocoa for decorating
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 egg
Method
- Mix the butter by hand with the sugar and vanilla. Add the oil and mix, then the egg and mix, then the cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
- Finally, add the flour gradually in batches and knead. Stop adding flour when you get a soft, tender dough.
- Shape the dough into small balls, and press them slightly with the palm of your hand so they remain thick.
- Use a small metal mold to make shapes in the center of the petit four. Dip the mold in water, then in cocoa, then press it lightly into the center of each petit four.
