How to make pizza — an easy recipe you’ll want to try

4 cups flour

2 cups warm water (adjust as needed)

1/2 cup oil

2 tbsp instant yeast

2 tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

Tomato sauce

Garlic powder

1 tsp dried basil

1 tsp oregano or dried thyme

1 tsp olive oil

3 tbsp crushed tomatoes

Pinch of black pepper

Salt

Fresh or mixed bell peppers, green and colored, sliced

Olives

Sausage, tuna or pastrami (optional)

Mozzarella cheese

Prepare the dough: dissolve the yeast and sugar in a cup of warm water and wait until it proofs.
In a large bowl, sift the flour and add the salt, then the oil and mix.
Add the proofed yeast and water as needed and knead for up to 10 minutes.
Cover the pizza dough and let it rise.
Prepare the topping — peppers can be used raw or lightly sautéed with the tomatoes and spices before adding to the pizza.
Roll out the dough in a pan greased with a little oil. Spread the topping, add pitted olives and, if desired, sausage, tuna or pastrami.
Top with cheese.
Bake in the oven at medium-high heat until the dough is cooked and the bottom is browned, then brown the top to finish.
