  • 7 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon caraway
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • For garnish
  • grated coconut
  • nuts soaked in water such as almonds and pine nuts, as desired
  • raisins soaked in water
  • walnuts

Method

  1. In a pot over the heat, put the cup of ground rice with the water and stir well and continuously until the mixture comes to a boil
  2. Add the sugar and spices and continue stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved
  3. Let the maghli (caraway pudding) simmer on very low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 3 hours until the mixture thickens

  4. Pour the maghli into serving glasses and let them cool to room temperature
  5. Garnish the maghli with coconut, nuts and raisins after drying them well
  6. You can refrigerate it until serving
