How to Make Energy Bars or Energy Sticks

Energy bars.. a healthy recipe, as the name suggests, and they work well as a light snack, especially for those who like to stay fit and care about exercise
Ingredients
- 2 cups oats (180 g)
- 1 cup chopped almonds (140 g)
- 1/2 cup date paste* + 2 tablespoons (160 g)
- 3 tablespoons pumpkin and sunflower seeds
- 2 tablespoons flaxseeds
- 1/2 cup of any type of chopped dried fruit
- 75 g peanut butter or any nut butter
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 60 g melted dark chocolate

Method
- In a skillet over medium heat, toast the oats and almonds for about three minutes
- Set them aside for five minutes
- In a bowl, combine the oats, almonds, and all the other ingredients except the dried fruit
- Mix well, then spread into a square baking pan lined with parchment paper. Add the dried fruit on top along with a sprinkle of pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and almonds... then press down well, either with a cup or with a smaller pan than the one used
- Place in the refrigerator for about two hours until set and firm
- Cut into small rectangles to make energy sticks or bars

- 20 dates, pitted
- Hot water
- A pinch of salt (optional)
- Soak the dates in hot water for 10 minutes (if the dates are not soft and sticky)Timers: 10 min
- Drain well
- Place the dates in a food processor and blend until the dates break into small pieces, then add enough hot water (3 to 4 tablespoons) and blend together until you get a very thick sauce
- You can use the date sauce or paste as is, or add a pinch of salt, and keep it covered in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or even longer
