Homemade qeimar (clotted cream) means you no longer need to buy ready cream — try this easy method.
Ingredients
- 2 cups powdered milk
- 3 cups water
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 1 cup prepared cream (qimar) or clotted cream

Method
- Mix the powdered milk with the water and put the mixture in a small pot over heat.
- When the milk boils, add the white vinegar.
- If white vinegar is not available, you can substitute 1 tablespoon lemon juice or 2 tablespoons plain yogurt.
- After adding the vinegar (or substitute), the milk will curdle and separate.
- You will get a mixture of thick curds and whey.
- Lift the curds out of the whey and place them in a strainer. When the curds cool, add the prepared cream (qimar) and mix well.
- Use the cream quickly — it's best not to keep it in the refrigerator for more than 3 days.
