Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • Cake preparation:

  • In a nonstick pan place 1½ cups sugar with 1 teaspoon butter and stir until they turn blond or light brown.

  2. Beat the eggs with sugar and oil until well combined.
  3. Fold in the sifted flour with the baking powder and vanilla.
  4. Continue beating and add the milk, baking soda, and vinegar. Dissolve the soda and vinegar together beforehand so they fizz slightly before adding to the batter
  5. Grease the pan with flour and a light dusting of oil or sesame, pour the batter into the pan, place in the oven on the middle rack and bake for about an hour at 180°C...
  6. Pour the toffee over the cake when baked and decorate as desired
  7. Beat the eggs with the sugar and oil well.
