Freekeh soup with meat, a homemade recipe that can’t be beat. Freekeh, or farik, is green wheat—this soup is super nourishing.

1 cup freekeh, soaked for 1 hour in cold water, washed, and drained

200 g meat or chicken, or as desired

1 onion, chopped

A pinch of black pepper

Salt

A pinch of cinnamon

Ghee or oil

Seasonings

Put the meat in the pot and stir it for a little with the ghee.
When the outside color of the meat changes, add the chopped onion and stir until the onion softens.
Add the freekeh and stir it with the onion and meat, then add the seasonings and spices.
After the freekeh absorbs the ghee or oil, after a few minutes, add about 1 liter of water and let it come to a boil.
Lower the heat and cover the pot until the meat and freekeh are fully cooked.
