Cookies... how about making these delicious cookies and decorating them with fondant in the shape of sheep to suit Eid al-Adha hospitality?!

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, at room temperature

1 cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 egg

1 teaspoon lemon zest

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

Fondant:

100 g mini marshmallows

1/4 cup sunflower oil

1/4 cup water

Vanilla

A pinch of salt

1/2 kilo sifted powdered sugar, or more as needed

Black food coloring, or as desired

Method:

In a bowl, combine the butter, sugar, and vanilla and beat with a hand mixer.
When the mixture becomes creamy and pale, add the egg and continue beating.
In another bowl, sift together the baking powder, flour, and salt, then add them to the egg mixture and mix with a spatula, then with the mixer until well combined.
Chill the cookie dough in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
After the time has passed, roll out the dough, cut it, and arrange the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for about 10 to 12 minutes.
Start preparing the fondant: put the water and oil in a saucepan over the heat, then add the marshmallows and stir well until melted.
Add the vanilla and a pinch of salt, stir, and remove immediately from the heat.
Gradually add the powdered sugar, continuing to stir until you reach the right consistency.
At this stage, you can add food coloring as desired.
Take a small amount of the dough and color it black with food coloring.
Use the white fondant to shape the sheep: roll it out on parchment paper and cut itwith a round cutter.
Place the cut pieces of dough on the cookies.
Use a straw to make small circles in the dough until you achieve the design shown in the photo, making sure to lift the straw quickly off the dough.
Roll out the black dough on parchment paper, cut it with a small round cutter, then use a knife to separate the edges to get the shape of sheep ears and place the ears in position.
Shape the nose using a small wooden stick. Then form very small balls from the white dough and even smaller ones from the black dough to make the eyes, and place them on the sheep.
