Easy Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted twice
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 eggs (white-shelled eggs are preferred)
- 1/2 cup oil or butter at room temperature
- Caramel
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 100 g butter or 1/2 cup
- Pineapple slices (fresh or canned)
- Maraschino cherries for garnish

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Start by making the caramel: melt the sugar over the heat in batches until all the sugar is dissolved
- Add the butter to it and stir quickly
- In a baking pan, place the pineapple and cherry pieces on the bottom, then pour the caramel over them
- Begin mixing the cake: beat the oil or butter with the sugar, vanilla, and lemon zest until the mixture turns pale
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each, then add the pineapple juice and beat
- Add the sifted flour with the baking powder and baking soda and beat briefly
- Pour the cake batter into the pan over the fruit and caramel, and put the pan into the oven
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30 minutes or according to your oven's strengthTimers: 30 min
- Let the pineapple cake cool completely at room temperature before inverting it onto a serving plate
