Ingredients
- 250 g butter (1 block)
- 4 tablespoons powdered (confectioners') sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- a pinch of salt
- jam of any flavor for sandwiching the petit-fours
- Decoration as desired and as available

Method
- Leave the butter at room temperature and add the powdered sugar; mix well.
- Add the eggs, then the vanilla, and beat the mixture well with a whisk or electric mixer for about 10 minutes.Timers: 10 min
- Begin adding the flour gradually and knead the mixture by hand; add the pinch of salt.
- When you have a uniform, cohesive but soft dough, roll it out and shape as desired.
- You can shape the petit-fours using ready cookie cutters or any tool you have at home.
- Bake the petit-fours in a preheated oven at 170°C for no more than 10 minutes.Timers: 10 min
- Do not leave the cookies in the oven for too long to avoid them becoming hard.
- When the petit-fours have cooled slightly, spread jam between two cookies to sandwich them, then decorate as desired — with sprinkles, chocolate chips, or dip them in melted chocolate and allow to set.
