- 3 cups milk
- 1/2 cup fine semolina
- 1/2 cup sugar or to taste
- 1 tablespoon starch
- A pinch of mahleb
- A pinch of shredded coconut - optional
Method
- Mix all ingredients and cook in a pot over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture boils and thickens.
- Turn off the heat and add 1 tablespoon rose water and 1 tablespoon orange blossom water. Return the mixture to the serving bowl and refrigerate Layali Lubnan until well cooled.
- Top with two cans of plain cream or qamar as a layer on top of Layali Lubnan, and garnish with pistachios or as desired.
- Serve Layali Lubnan cold with syrup or honey.
