  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup liquid milk
  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 2 medium tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar

Method

  1. Add the sifted flour with the baking powder and vanilla, and continue whisking the mixture. Add the bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar. It is best to mix the soda with the vinegar so they foam before adding them to the cake batter.
  2. Grease the cake pan with tahini, or a little oil and flour, and pour the batter into it.
  3. Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about an hour, until the cake is cooked through and rises.
  4. Place a nonstick pan over the heat, add half a cup of sugar, and stir until the sugar turns light brown.
  5. Add a container of clotted cream or cream, slowly and gradually, over the sugar. Continue stirring so the mixture does not clump or stick ... reduce the heat and whisk quickly so the mixture becomes smooth
  6. Place 10 dates in a bowl of hot water and leave them for a while, then blend them and add them to the toffee sauce
  7. After the cake is baked, pour the toffee sauce over it and decorate with dates, pistachios, and almonds
