Craving a successful chocolate cake coated with a rich chocolate sauce, but you want it to be easy and budget-friendly too? Here is a tried-and-true recipe.
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 small teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup liquid milk
- 3 tablespoons yogurt
- 2 cups flour
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- Chocolate pieces - type as desired
- Chocolate sauce:
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 chocolate bars - type as desired
- Chocolate shavings for garnish - optional
Method
- Whisk the eggs with the vanilla, then add the sugar and continue whisking until it dissolves completely and the mixture doubles in volume.
- Add the oil, liquid milk, and yogurt, then whisk.
- Sift the dry ingredients together, then add them gradually to the cake mixture and fold gently by hand with a spoon from top to bottom. Add the chocolate pieces at this stage as well and mix.
- Pour the chocolate cake batter into a cake pan greased with butter and dusted with flour.
- Bake on the middle rack in a preheated oven at 180 C for 50 minutes, or حسب the strength of your oven.Timers: 50 min
- Once the cake has cooled to room temperature, melt the chocolate bars with the heavy cream over a bain-marie, then pour the sauce over the cake.
- Decorate with chocolate shavings and serve.
