Delicious Ka'ak al-Abbas (also called Thursday rested ka'ak) — detailed recipe

1 kg all-purpose flour

500 g "farkha" flour or fine semolina

150 g melted butter

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 tsp mahleb

1 tbsp ready-made ka'ak spice mix

Sugar to taste

1 tbsp yeast

1 tsp nigella seeds (black seed)

Sesame and anise to taste

Liquid milk as needed

Mix the dry ingredients, then add the liquid milk in batches and knead until you obtain a soft dough.

Let the Ka'ak al-Abbas dough rest for 30 minutes.

After resting, pinch off the dough into medium-sized discs.

Place each disc into the specialized mold (or shape by hand) to form the ka'ak discs, and arrange them on a suitable baking tray.

Let them rest again for 10 minutes.

Bake at 250°C until cooked through.

Allow the ka'ak to cool completely before serving.
