  • 1 container qaimar cream
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 1 kg othmaliyyeh dough

  • 2 cups sugar

Method

  1. Whisk the milk, water, starch, and sugar cold, then place the mixture in a pot over the heat.
  2. When it comes to a boil, turn off the heat and add the container of qaimar cream, then mix well.
  3. Place the othmaliyyeh cream mixture in a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap so a dry layer does not form on top.
  4. Let the cream cool well in the refrigerator before using.
  5. Divide the othmaliyyeh dough into two parts... Take the first part, separate the ready-made othmaliyyeh dough pieces from each other, sprinkle them lightly with water, then spread them in a tray greased with a little ghee.
  6. Spread ghee over the top as well and press it down well, then place it in the preheated oven.
  7. When it turns golden, remove it from the oven and prepare a second layer of othmaliyyeh dough in the same way so that the cream can be distributed between the two layers.
  8. Once the layers of othmaliyyeh dough have cooled... Spread the cold cream over one layer, then place the second layer on top.
  9. Drizzle some syrup over the othmaliyyeh disc... More syrup can be added when serving, as desired.
  10. Place the sugar, water, and butter in a pot over the heat.
  11. When the water comes to a boil, lower the heat, add the lemon juice, and let the syrup boil for about 8 minutes.
    Timers: 8 min
  12. Use the syrup once it has cooled completely.
